Since opening our doors in 1992, Sharkey’s has been dedicated to providing great food and a good time in a welcoming environment. Originally we were known as Sharkey’s Bar & Grille, and quickly became a local favorite thanks to our Legendary Wing & Pizza Buffet, our mouth-watering 1/2-pound hamburgers — including locally-raised bison meat — and our ribs that are so tender, the meat practically falls off the bone!

At Sharkey’s we have always strived to be the very best at what we do, and we are always looking for ways to evolve and improve. In 2005, we moved from our original location in downtown Blacksburg to our current location — right next door! With our new building came a new name. Because we have been well-known for our wings and ribs, we wanted our new name to reflect that. We also wanted a name that would remind people of the great burger joints of the 1950’s and 1960’s — the kinds of restaurants that were THE places to be on a Friday and Saturday night! With those things in mind, Sharkey’s Wing & Rib Joint was born!

In 2005 we again put ourselves on the map with the introduction of “Free Burger Monday”, when all burgers are buy-one, get-one free! If you don’t want two burgers in one sitting, we’ll give you a coupon for a free burger that you can redeem any day of the week! We also continued to expand our irresistible burger choices in 2007, when we added fresh, local, organic Registered Angus beef to our menu that, along with our Bison meat, can be substituted for our regular burgers for only $1 more!

Another big change happened for us in 2007 when we decided to expand our restaurant by opening a second location! We quickly decided that Radford, VA would be a perfect choice, and after a historic renovation of our building on Main Street, we opened a beautiful and fun establishment and are delighted to have a second home in Radford!

Over the years we have been thrilled to have been recognized by the readers of the Virginia Tech Collegiate Times, winning such awards as “Best Bar”, “Best Place to Watch Sports”, and “Best Happy Hour” (5 years in a row)! We hope that our guests continue to enjoy every moment they spend in our two locations!
